Drupal activity stream not updating

The main idea is to create a secondary view, hopefully less heavy than the first one, that only returns new items since the last refresh.

The module is responsible for merging those new items into the existing items on the page.

First it is good to understand the main concepts of a Message and Activity entity and how they are related to each other.

The Message entity is created when an event is triggered (e.g. It’s being build from a Message template that contains tokenized text.

Message module makes it extremely easy to do all of this without writing a single line of code.

In this article I’ll show you how to setup a message type, create the message logs using Rules and then we’ll display a list of the logs using the Views module.

Here's how it works: Now, automagically, your view will be refreshed every 15 seconds. If you add a task or open it, then it’s nice if your underlaying list (calendar, task list, or board) is not lost.So tasks now open in a modal / pop-up, so you son’t lose your underlaying overview -thus navigating easier and faster. The stream usually consists of completely different content: posts, topics, events, etc.On top of this we have a comments, likes, joining to groups or events and other things.
